# AI spend, metered, capped, and provable

What Recovea is, through the four things people asked for.

Yesterday's post said what two million comments ask for: a predictable bill, money that stops going missing at the seams, and a party in the path they can check. Recovea is four products, one per answer. All four are live today, on every plan, including Free.

## Meter: a meter that is not owned by the party billing you

Every request through the gateway is metered as it happens: cost, model, token counts by class, latency, the key and project it came from. The meter has no field for a prompt; that is a schema, not a setting. Attribution is by key, project and the tags you declare. On Team and above, the unit is cost per successful output rather than cost per million tokens.

## Cap: a cap that refuses the request, not an alarm after the invoice

An armed cap refuses the request before it reaches your provider, and answers 402. No call, no tokens, no cost. Caps run on the workspace and on a single key, and since this week on every clock: day, week, month, year, lifetime, stacked, the tightest wins. A cap bounds what routes through the gateway; a provider key used directly never enters the path, and we say so.

## Breaker: a budget one run carries, in dollars

Recovea Breaker is a budget one run carries. When the run reaches it, the next request is refused and the run stays tripped; a sibling run on the same key keeps its own envelope and keeps going. Set the run id to your trace or thread id. Run envelopes are on every plan, Free included. This is the answer to the loop that runs while you sleep.

## Prove: receipts you can re-verify without trusting us

Every request that reaches your provider gets a receipt, and every priced receipt is sealed into a hash-chained ledger. A refusal gets its own evidence row: the request that did not happen, recorded as not having happened. Export the receipts, re-derive the chain in your browser; keep a copy of your chain head anywhere you like, and that copy is your protection against us. A receipt nobody checks is a log. A receipt a stranger can re-derive is something else.

## What we don't do

We never take a percentage of your spend. We never route you to a different model. We never read your prompts. We never grade our own savings. Each of those would make our number worth less, and the number is the product.

Designed to fail open: if the gateway degrades, traffic goes straight to your provider. The only stop is a cap you armed.
